Harold Washington College is featured in this great article in the Sun-Times about CPS students enrolling at City Colleges of Chicago. Andre Ellis, HWC student, calls his course “challenging,” and he says that he is learning to write “a really good essay.”
In another article, this time in the Chicago Tribune (coincidence? or was a certain Marketing team working overtime this weekend?), Kyle Nichols of Kenwood Academy is “also spending part of his last year in high school studying inequalities, polynomials and logarithmic functions at Harold Washington College in downtown Chicago.”
“The class is more fast-paced and more independent,” Nichols said. “When I go to college, I am going to be more prepared.”
It looks to me like Messrs. Ellis and Nichols are already on their way.
(A special thanks to George Bickford and Kim Bowens for making our Dual Credit program a reality and spending the time to make it a success.)
